What should you expect from GWRRA?

GWRRA’s motto says it all.

“Friends for Fun, Safety & Knowledge”

  Through rides, monthly gatherings, dinner rides, rallies, and all the other GWRRA events, members get a chance to meet new people with a common interest, motorcycles. You are a member of EVERY Chapter within GWRRA. Georgia has 30 active Chapters and you are welcome to come visit each and every one.

  After visiting the different Chapters you’ll get a feel for which Chapter is “Your” Chapter, the one you feel most at home. Each and every Chapter is different and you don’t have to pick a single one. Have fun and meet some new friends.

  Safety is a major concern for all of us riding these bikes. Through Rider Education training courses we learn not only how to ride alone out on the open road but also how to ride in a group and to be safe while having fun out on your bike. There are also courses that teach our Co-Riders how to better help us glide along smoothly down the road.  

What to expect at a Chapter Ga-D Gathering.

  Fun. We all show up a bit early. Some an hour early to eat breakfast and others a bit closer to the gathering start time, which is normally 11:00am. Showing up early gives us all a chance to socialize a bit and get caught up with each other on what has been going on since the last time we saw each other. This time also gives us a chance to purchase door prize and 50/25/25 tickets for the drawings at the end of the gathering. 

  The gathering normally starts at 11:00 with the Pledge of Allegiance. A review of what the Chapter and it’s members have done since the last gathering is next and then the Rider Educator gets a chance to address the room on upcoming Rider Training events. Members are encouraged to share rides and other activities they’ve been participating in. We all enjoy a good story.

Our Sunshine Lady, Donna, lets everyone know of the months birthdays and anniversaries and we try our best not to sing. Upcoming Events let’s everyone know what’s coming up and what to mark the calendar for. Chapter Ga-D stacks the calendar to try to give everyone a chance to participate during the month at least once if not more. The farther we plan ahead the better turnout we have. This gives everyone a chance to make plans to attend.

  Last but not least it’s time for the door prize and 50/25/25 drawings. Each member is requested to bring a small gift, around $5.00, bike related if possible, to be raffled off to help raise operating funds for the Chapter. The 50/25/25 is a fund raiser that 50% of the proceeds are put into the Chapters operating funds and the remaining 50% is split and the cash raffled off to all whom bought the tickets. Once the 2 cash prizes and all the door prizes are have been awarded the gathering is normally closed but don’t be surprised if it’s a hour or so before the room is empty. We always enjoy the socializing and the after gathering sometimes lst longer then the hour gathering. We always have FUN.

  

Chapter D normally meets the 2nd Saturday at Golden Corral  located at 2025 Market Place Boulevard, Cumming. 10am to eat, 11am start.
